Fall is in the air here as well…there’s a bit of “crisp” as I walked out the door with Bella (our studio pup) and I have my pumpkin spice candles burning and we are are looking forward to two full months of fall family sessions

Family:  Are the ones that no matter what type of day you are having, you know you can be yourself.  They are the ones that understand exactly what makes you smile and what makes you cry.  Being with family is often like putting on the most comfortable hoodie…it just feels right.  Family will take all the good and bad and just allow you to be.  Family embraces your dreams and your fears.  Family doesn’t always have to be something that you were born into or born from you.  Family can be like a big hug.  Family is often the hardest thing to describe, yet you know exactly what it is.  Family is about traditions and memories.  Family! 

I love that I get to capture families…their connections, their spirit.  When my clients come into the studio to view their session, I love it when they say “that is so us’ .  People ask me all the time, why I choose to specialize in family photography and I have to say that it’s because of the connection that I can give them.  That in that moment, where I capture that group hug or the giggles, I have been able to capture something that they don’t get to see from an outsider.  When I am able to look through my lens and get them just to relax and “be in the moment” with each other…then I am able to capture not just a picture, but a true memory.  That makes it special.

I loved it when this mom emailed me and said “I want something different this year”  (that makes this photographer super happy)  I love it when my families want something an bit unique…So we met at Southport NC and I have to say…their session is one of my favorites!  Thank you so much Akers family for once again allowing me to capture you!  I adored your family session!
