We are so close to summer and where all our focus shifts to the beach and all things Ocean Isle family beach pictures.
I thought I’d take a few minutes and answer many questions that people have about each session and working with our studio.
What makes you different?
We often start every conversation about our beach sessions with “we are a bit different than other photographers on the beach”. How? There are several reasons!
1. We are experience driven. Meaning that we want the entire experiencing from the moment you reach out to us—to receiving your welcome box–to our consultation before your session– to our fun and relaxed shoot on the beach–to recieving your beautiful products–to us contracting installation for your custom wall gallery to be nothing short of seamless and amazing.
2. We are relationship driven, meaning we value your family and see you as a part of our SAP family!
3. We are product focused, wanting you to have the images that you choose to display and we have products that are the highest the industry offers.
4. Our team (yes we have 6 people that work at Sara-Anne Photography) all there to make sure you are taken care of and every question answered!
5. Experience in the industry. Sara-Anne has been serving clients at the coast for over 12 years….thats over 2000 beach clients!! Thats a lot of sessions and an lot of experience and there is NOTHING that we have not experienced.
Who will our photographer be? We are so blessed that we have grown so much so we now have two photographers available for our beach clients. Gable and Sara-Anne both serve clients at the coast. We’ve worked really hard to make sure our styles are congruent and most of the time people cannot tell the difference between are images.
Can I get just digitals? The answer is yes and no. We do not hide the fact that we really value prints and products for our clients, and most of our clients come to us because they want that beautiful family beach portrait hanging over their fireplace or an album to display and keep for memory purposes for years to come. We love it when our clients display our work and see it as art, but we also realize that clients in this day and age want images to share and use on social media so we do offer both. If you are looking for a photographer to just shoot your session and hand you over a CD, we are probably not the best fit.
We are a large family that wants to capture our group as a whole but we would also like individual family pictures is that a possibility? Absolutely the majority of our beach clients are multi generatioal–multi family vacationing together at the beach and using this opportunity of being together to document and capture memories.
We are very used to capturing large families as big as 30. We will capture the group as a whole and then all the groupings, grandkids and grandparents, individual families etc so that you have a very well rounded proof gallery.
How do we see our pictures?
There are two ways. The first, is we can set up a time while you’re still at the beach and we can share with you and your family the printed proofs. This is our favorite way as we can walk you through the entire process and answer all the question and often our clients have images to share while they are still at the beach. Option 2 is that we will set up a virtual ordering session so you can see the images and do the whole process online! This works really well for clients who’s session is towards the end of the week or who want to wait until they get home to see their gallery.
What if it rains
To be honest, out of the over 100 sessions that we did last summer only two of them were totally canceled due to rain at that time we will refund the session fee. Most of the time we work with our families to get their session in that week and we don’t have to cancel the entire session!
Where do you shoot the session!
We can shoot anywhere on the island at your Beachhouse or at a place that is mutually agreed-upon! We really recommend that you stay flexible due to high tides and sometimes very little beach! But we will work with you to make sure that we picked the perfect spot for your session and your family.
I see you only shoot 30 minutes before sunset but my baby goes to bed early how do you handle that?
One of the reasons our clients are drawn to our work is the soft light that we utilize and that only happens right before sunrise or right before sunset! We will send you a welcome box that has our studio magazine in it that will give you lots of tips to help we pushing your babies sleeptime. We find that little ones do so much better when the sun is going down and the sun isn’t in their eyes, it’s a little bit cooler and we can move through the session very quickly! Kiddos rise to the occasion and will be fine if you are fine 🙂
What do you suggest we wear?
This is one topic that we go over at length both in our consult before your session and also in our studio magazine. The two main things are that you are comfortable as you will be in the sand and toes in the water. AND that you represent your style as a family. We love long flowy dresses for girls and women, button down shirts for guys (polos cling in the wind) soft colors mixed with a pattern or two and lots of individuality. Our clients often text us their options for our help and guidance and we are here for it!!!
What Beaches do you cover?
Almost all of North Carolina, South Carolina and Virginia!!! We shoot most often at Holden Beach, Ocean Isle Beach, Bald Head Island, Wrightsville Beach, Sunset Beach, Oak Island and Cherry Grove. Others include Topsail, Surf City, Pawleys Island, Hilton Head, Duck, OBX and Virginia Beach.
I have captured this family for several years and have watched their boys grow up! It was such a joy to be able to work with them at and capture their cherry grove beach session. If you are in North Myrtle, this is by far one of my favorite places to shoot at! Their session was just perfect!!!
