Photographing teens and seniors is one of my favorite things to do. I’ve had the pleasure of knowing this beautiful young woman since before she was born. Life travels by so quickly and I remember the first time I met her parents…I was visiting a church in NoVA, I was single, and didn’t know a soul. Her parents (long before she was born) greeted me, made me feel welcomed in that new environment. Their gesture of hospitality has alway stuck with me as I’ve encountered new situations. This past weekend I was at church (which we are fairly new to) I had my 2 year old nephew in my arms and needed to check him into the nursery…(since my kids are not nursery age anymore) I was a bit lost. Once again, I had a kind couple that greeted me, helped me and later introduced themselves to me. Again, having a lasting impression on me…making me feel one step closer to “feeling home” in a new environment.
I got to thinking about the above…That we have opportunities to provide in just a split minute, lasting impressions on peoples hearts both for good and for bad. We can take a few moments, to reach out, to go out of our way and you never know how much that will mean to someone.
Anyway, back to beautiful Lauren, it was such a privilege to be able to capture her for her senior pictures. She’s an amazing blend of her beautiful mom and dad…its so funny to me, I would look in the camera and say “you look so much like your dad” but then she would smile and it was her mom…I LOVE that! Lauren, your parents are so proud of you, you are beautiful and I was honored that I was able to work with you!
