Someone recently said to me “I thought you didn’t like maternity sessions”  Well the truth is…I didin’t, in fact, I never did them up until a year ago.  I would always pass them along to other photographers, I guess they intimidated me…I felt that all the same poses of dad kissing mom’s belly, or mom with her hands on her expecting tummy were just so ordinary…I felt that I couldn’t be creative enough…that I couldn’t make them pretty enough for my taste…they all felt too cutesy!

Then someone suggested I try them with my studio, and I did…and fell in love with the simple beauty.  I started to approach my maternity sessions differently…as a way to make my expecting clients feel the most beautiful that they could ever imagine.  That the “glow” that people talk about just oozed from my mom’s…that they felt glamorous, and radiant.  I started to research maternity sessions and realized that what I was drawn to was the simplicity of a woman’s figure at that time in their life…I wanted to bring that out, to emphasize that, not to have all these props…but to keep things simple and beautiful.

If you book a maternity session with us, that is what you will get, pure beauty…I recently got an email from a maternity client that said “thank you so much for making me feel so glamorous, I have struggled with that this pregnancy…and after our session, and seeing my images, I feel more beautiful than ever”  To me, that means I’ve done my job!!!

So you are interested in a maternity session…here are a few tips for planning

• the majority of my maternity clients are part of my baby plan (JOY program) 
• we can do both studio maternity and outdoor in your session
• I do offer a maternity mini session (STUDIO only) for those mom’s who just want a few pictures, but don’t need an entire session.  Email me for details about them
• I will do beach maternity sessions.
• 32-34 weeks is perfect for your sesssion
• book early as I book up especially June – November
• I have all the clothing/draping that you could imagine, but if you have something special that you want to wear, let me know.  Simple is best!

This beautiful mom…oh I can’t say enough as her session was everything I could imagine.  She was such a trooper, as we hunted a “pond” to use.  Can you believe that they are welcoming baby 5!!! She’s stunning!!!!
